We started our adventure back in 1982 in an old mill building in Kennebunk known as The Lafayette Center. At only 500 square feet, we were quite small. We specialized in writing papers, stationery, and greeting cards.

Over the years we began to expand room-by-room, department-by-department. In 1994 the walls of Marlows were moved across the street to yet another old brick building, this time right on Main Street. The Ross Block was many things over the years including an old fashion drug store and soda shop and ending with an updated bank, that is until Marlows moved in. Moving to the Ross block meant Marlows would expand to 2000 square feet. The task of filling an extra 1500 square feet was both exciting and challenging. We expanded into new departments such as bath and body products, more wrapping and writing papers, and a larger more extensive line of home and camp accessories.

In 1999, the decision was made to move one more time. We had slowly built up a wonderful cliental and started to become know as a "destination" shop. What a thrill and an honor that was. Not only were we building the reputation of having great products for everyone, but our wonderful customer service and product knowledge was getting noticed.

We are now in a new brick building known as Park Square, just across the street from our old location. We are 5000 square feet of gifts, jewels, gourmet goodies, cards, stationery, children's products, frames, and so much more.

Recently purchased in 2003, Marlows has begun a wonderful transformation. You will find an even bigger selection, and new fresh merchandise arriving every day. Our new owner has a wonderful vision for the future of Marlows and everyone is excited about the direction in which we are heading.

As always at Marlows, we take special care to make sure our customers know they are our priority, and we will do everything we can to make their time at Marlows a good one.
